The Good Life in Christ

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. -Titus 2:11-14

We live in an increasingly ungodly and sinful world. Maybe not the worst its ever been but headed in that direction for sure.

As followers of Jesus Christ saved by His grace, we are called to be different than the world, to set the example if you will of what the good life looks like.

People of the world may not look at the Christian lifestyle as good, but it is good, very good. At the beginning of Titus chapter 2, Paul explains that the older men and women should teach the up and coming generation how to live well.

We take for granted that we have taught love in marriage as well as faithfulness, that we need to show love to our children and grandchildren and we need to show faithfulness in sobriety and church attendance.

I know that I tend to forget I am still teaching and setting an example to my adult children whether I want to or not.

The good life in Christ is a more abundant life, it is a more full life. Standing up against evil still matters and doing good in this godless world is more important than ever.

Read Titus chapter 2 to get the whole message from God. I would also recommend Isiah chapter 1. We are the people of the Lord, the remnant in these last days. If we do not live well for Jesus, who will?
